An Introduction…

Hello darlings! Guess What?! We are going on a new adventure together.

I found that my last post that reflected on my love live and sex life was extremely popular. I also received a lot of feedback that the addition of my favourite drag queen, Alyssa Edwards, made this delicate subject a lot more light-hearted. Listen, more queens is fine with me! Reflecting on this success, I’ve decided to go one step further and make like an obese Carrie Bradshaw: Welcome to Sex, Love & Birth Control!

I’m creating a safe space on BigBawdyBurlyBeauty to discuss sex, sexual health, relationships and sexuality. This will feature articles involving other bloggers, health professionals, public figures, and a representation of different genders and sexualities. Everyone is welcome! The comment section at the bottom of each post will become a hub of questions and advice for each subject, and the answers will come from myself as well as other readers/experts. It is your chance to seek advice from an unbiased source, and an opportunity to remain anonymous should you wish.

I know, I know. Some of you may not want to partake in this. That’s fine, I’ve neatly sorted this subject into a special heading at the top of the blog. It’s your choice to click on it or not. But why?

I’m aware some of you may be embarrassed by this subject. Most of that will come down to the fact you’ve never been presented with a safe space to learn about it/talk about it. Nothing is irrelevant if you’re inspired to ask by reading something here. No one is here to judge you!

There’s nothing wrong with sitting on the sidelines. If you don’t want to ask questions or involve yourself, that’s ok too. You can participate just by reading, or sending me a private message via the contact section. I’ll do my best to give you the correct answer, if there is one, or offer an alternative source.

There will be times when the conversation may be graphic, or something will be discussed that you don’t relate to. I would love it if you used this as a chance to broaden your mind and empathy for other people and their preferences.

I promise this will be a fun experience too. You’ll laugh, you may cry, you’ll feel compassionate as well as entertained. You may hear of things you never considered before, or you may discover you are kinkier than you thought!

Finally, if you use this page to make someone feel uncomfortable, or bring them down, consider yourself deleted.

The next queen to be feature will be…

The delicious Detox iCunt! And our subject of choice is: Contraception.

The article will feature advice and anecdotes from sexual health expert and close friend of mine, Nurse Lisa!

We need your questions about contraception. Whether you’re afraid of the stigma surrounding certain methods, or you’ve heard a horror story and want to know the facts, we need your input. Please feel free to comment below or contact us privately here.

Can’t wait to hear from you all!

Hi, I am considering getting the implant as Im really bad at remembering to take my pill but when I was at school there was a stigma around getting the implant like “You’re gonna bleed everyday” or “You can move it around from your arm to your neck and it will come out” “You’re gonna gain weight etc..” Can you clear this up for me please and can I get the benefits from using the implant?
